Manchester United fans have rejoiced after Mason Greenwood received the FIFA 22 upgrade they desired.
While it may not be of critical importance to some, a player’s FIFA rating makes for big talking points amongst football supporters. Some feel like a player may have been overrated, or perhaps underrated, based on their star power or any other number of factors.
Momentum can always be critical, too, which is why there are often so many updates during the season.
Mason Greenwood is a massive part of Manchester United’s first-team squad at the age of 20. He seems to be improving with every passing game. While the Red Devils are struggling in the league right now, Greenwood is still flourishing.
With this in mind, Man United fans will greet the news that he’s received a FIFA boost with a cheer.
What are the upgrades for Greenwood?
The big headline is that his overall rating has jumped from 78 to 79. The masses have felt that Greenwood was underrated in the game. Now, the makers of FIFA have acknowledged the feelings.

His curve has gone from 76-78, with his volleys rising from 68 to 70. That trend continues with positioning (79-82), reactions (77-78), and defensive awareness (35-40).
It’s common for forward players to receive low ratings in the latter area. Still, it’s nice to know his work rate is appreciated.
Plenty of other top United stars are rated higher than Greenwood at this stage of his career. However, with his potential rating going up from 89 to 90, you can see room for growth in the next few years.
Success is guaranteed to nobody at the elite level, and we all know that. Alas, whether it’s under the guidance of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer or another manager, it’d be pretty hard to mess up the development of someone like Mason Greenwood.
